THINGS WE CAN TALK ABOUT
With over 10 years of problem-solving and action-planning with students, I have tons of advice that I’m excited to share. I’ve outlined some of my most popular sessions below. Each is problem-focused with clear expectations of what you’ll get out of our time together, and includes concrete action items and accountability measures. Sessions will be completely customized to your unique needs while still hitting on the core content. I’m all about tangible takeaways and moving you forward.
CAREER PLANNING
Resumes: We’ll make what you have dazzle, and then - most importantly - we’ll assess current/future involvement to get proactive about what we want to be able to put on this document. No worries if you don’t have a resume, we’ll get you set up!
Networking: We’ll debunk myths about networking and set tangible goals to help you build more connections, learn how to communicate, and understand how to maximize relationships.
Job Searching/Career Fair: I’ll teach you how (and where) to look for internships and jobs and coach you on how to crush your local career fair. Again, we’ll set tangible goals and I’ll follow-up to make sure you’re moving forward.
LinkedIn: Meet your new best friend! I’ll help you build your profile, show you how to build connections, and teach you tricks for job searching, networking, and informational interviewing. This platform is a goldmine!
Interview Prep: Whether it’s an informational interview (don’t worry, I’ll teach you about this) or an interview for an internship/job, we’ll prepare and practice until you’re ready to crush it.
LIFE SKILLS
Confidence: Sometimes you just need to tell someone else about the crazy thoughts in your head and get a pep talk on how to push past the doubt/fear. I’ve got you!
Making Friends/Likability: This may seem weird but it comes up in at least 75% of my conversations — connecting with others, especially after a couple of weird years, can be tricky, but we can work through the self-doubting thoughts to help you connect.
Goal Setting/Be Brave: The real world is intimidating. Period. This conversation focuses on getting clear on what you want, pushing past your limited view of who you can be, evaluating your environment/relationships, and setting big goals that drive you toward the career and life of your dreams.
MAXIMIZING THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
Major Selection/What To Do With a Major In…: If you’re feeling a little clueless about what major you should pursue, this session is for you. Decision fatigue is real and when you have 70-billion majors to choose from, it can be confusing. I like to take a career-first approach to major selection and blend that with skill development in a major. There isn’t always a direct major-to-career correlation, but I can help you figure out what majors set you up for the most success. Once in your major, I’ll help you figure out how to maximize your classroom experience and know what’s on the other side of the degree.
Time Management/Academic Success: I’ll never be your tutor, but I’ll help you with basic academic strategies and help you find your resources on campus for more in-depth academic support. I’ll also run you through my tried and tested time management strategies. It’s easy to complain about being too busy, but the reality is you were just never taught how to maximize your time.
Get Your Money’s Worth: You have so many resources on campus that you PAY FOR with your tuition! I’ll work with you to identify the high-return experiences and develop a plan with you to maximize your time and get your money’s worth. (This also includes finding scholarships, grants, and cushy on-campus jobs.)
Graduate School Conversation: This is where I get really tough - I’m not one to encourage students to go straight into graduate programs, and I’ll push you to think it through. Sometimes it’s necessary, but more often than not, you’re just a little scared to enter the real world. We’ll talk it through and develop a plan that makes sense for you and your career goals. If we discover that graduate school is the smartest path, I’ll help you craft your statements, get quality letters of recommendation, and land a spot in the best program for you.
HOW IT WORKS + PRICING
One-on-one coaching is my favorite. We meet via Zoom to discuss your goals, discover your blocks, develop a plan, and get to work. Between each session, you’ll have the option to stay in touch via email or text until your next session. (This is pretty clutch when life starts throwing you curve balls.) The best part about these sessions is that they are completely tailored to you and what’s happening in your world. Again, think of it as personal training for your life.
